Fly Control in the Hospitality Industry
What’s The Buzz About Flies?
Flies have been known to carry a slew of bacteria on their bodies including E. coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus, so it’s more than just the constant buzzing that your guests will find disturbing.
At certain times of the year, flies are more active, and your property is likely to be more at risk. Once established, a fly population can explode. One female housefly can lay around 100 eggs at a time. Those eggs will hatch in less than one day, and the flies start breeding soon after.
Flies Like Hospitality Properties
There are a number of areas in your property that will attract flies:
- Lobby and other entrances
- Waste disposal areas
In all these areas, preventative measures are the most productive. In the lobby area, simply having the correct airflow can be a great deterrent. In the kitchen, storing food correctly, keeping the space clean and disposing of all waste can make a noticeable difference. And, by having all garbage containers sealed and sanitized regularly, many of the attractants in the waste disposal area disappear.
Take Action First
To control flies it is best to adopt an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach. Because every property is different, we develop a custom Hospitality Precision Protection™ program that focuses on the unique problems being faced by your establishment.
How it works:
- A highly trained pest management specialist will examine your property to discover what makes it unique and what potential challenges you face.
- After the inspection, our technician will work with you to develop a plan based on his or her findings.
- We will carry out regular inspections to ensure the pest management procedures are working. All changes and services will be documented.
We have been at the forefront of developing industry standards for decades. Every pest specialist is fully trained in the latest techniques and aware of all local regulations.
